Spring Cameo

Spring Cameo
Have you ever smelled spring?
Sure you have.
Remember that time
You were playing under warn the clear blue sky
In the soggy,
muddy grass.
That was spring

Remember that time
You were in at the farm in Silverdale

Watching the new born lambs.
That was spring

Remember that time
When the air was filled with
The sweet scent of flowers
That was Spring

What makes a good teacher?

What makes a good teacher?
A good teacher has many qualities, attributes and skills that help and motivate students to be learners for life. A good teacher has intellectual, physical and caring attributes.

A good teacher needs to know skills to teach the students. They have to know how to socialize with the students and how to do maths, reading and writing.

Teachers need the intellectual qualities to teach students and they have to have supportive attributes. It includes caring for you when you're hurt, showing loyalty and being respectful. You have be an example for the people of the future, encourage students to be the best they can is very important. Patience and determined is the formula for modeling how to succeed to your full potential. Teachers explain topics in different ways and builds on students ideas and experiences.
Physical attributes are needed because they have to show that exercise is important. It is important to eat a healthy diet and exercise at least one hour a day. They need to have fun and play with the children.

Mary Mackillop 2017

In our class we have been learning about Mary Mackillop and the Josephites. I have created a presentation to show what I have learnt. The challenge was to finish the presentation in one day, which has to include a timeline of her life, a quote that means something to you, her role in the Josephites, four facts about her and make a prayer about her. I was happy that I finished on time. Everything was relatively easy but the hardest part was finding the important dates to put into the timeline.

Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mother's Day

When you thought I wasn’t looking
I saw you pack my favourite snack
and I knew you cared.

When you thought I wasn’t looking
I saw you make the yummiest fried rice
and I knew little things are special things.

When you thought I wasn’t looking
I saw you hang out my laundry
and I thought I can help others too.

When you thought I wasn’t looking
I saw you wash the dishes
and I learnt that you are hard working.

When you thought I wasn’t looking
I saw you skip breakfast so I can get to school on time
And I learnt that education is important.

When you thought I wasn’t looking
I saw you wake up extra early to take me to piano
And I learnt that love means sacrifice.

When you thought I wasn’t looking
I saw you make my bed when I forgot to
And I knew you will always be there for me.

When you thought I wasn’t looking
I looked…
And I wanted to tell you thanks for all the things
I saw when you thought I wasn’t looking

Rock Climbing

Rock Climbing

I looked up the wall of doom. Frightened. Sick to my stomach. Strapped in, I reluctantly walked up to the wall. My hands dripped of sweat. I trembled. Mum and Dad, proudly cheered me on. Clutching the plastic peculiar shaped rocks, I placed my foot on the lowest stone. Motionless and stiff. 10 centimeters never looked so obscure. I reached for the next rock, slowly I clambered to the pinnacle of Mount Everest. I proudly waved to my family. The drop was daunting. There's only one way down. I jumped down, closed my eyes, hoping I'll survive. Next thing I noticed I’m lying on my back. My family crowded around me and celebrated my achievement and bravery.

I have created a recount about my first experience rock climbing.

ANZAC Art

ANZAC Letters Home

ANZAC Letters Home
Dear Family,
Cold, scared, hungry. It’s dark. My feet are wet. Hard, old biscuits and canned meals are the norm. Bombs, cries and gunshots, one after another. Hours go by. Cartilages lay rotting in the trench. Duties like repairing trenches, guard duty and clean weapons are not my preference. After all I am still fighting and hoping one day we'll be together. “Over the top in ten seconds” called Captain
Just know that I will always love you.

In our classroom we have been learning about ANZAC day. ANZAC stands for Australia and New Zealand army corps.
