Virtual baby says a first word
BabyX is a 3D computer-animated child. She was born in the University of Auckland in the year 2012 and has just said its first word.
She can see, reach and respond to what is in front of her and she is learning more as she gets older like a real child. A video by the university shows she can read out words that are in front of her and recognize pictures. She can smile because she is artificially-intelligent releases if she has done something right or if something is funny.
I hope that the technology inside this computer will help children read and maybe used by teachers in schools.
At this stage they don’t yet know if BabyX will be allowed to keep growing older, or whether she will have her learning limited.
