Did you know chocolate's main ingredient is cocoa, that comes from cocoa trees? Cocoa trees are grown in warm places close to the equator. About 70% comes from West Africa. Did you know cocoa pods look like small footballs and inside is the beans. They are shipped around the world to make chocolates. After it gets to its destination, its blended, cleaned, dried and the skins are broken leaving only the nibs that are the main ingredient in making chocolate.
How to make chocolate
  • nibs are grounded into a liquid cocoa mass
  • mass is process to create cocoa powder and cocoa butter
  • milk and dark chocolate are made by mixing these ingredients and few more are added to make chocolate bars
  • white chocolate has no cocoa mass or cocoa powder, only cocoa butter
  • sugar, milk and lecithin are then added and put through a series of rollers
  • conching is the final preparation and step in chocolate making
  • the ingredients are carefully blended in a large tank for the final flavour development
  • after that the chocolate is shaped into blocks and bars or chocolate drops
  • before we make your favorite chocolate, it goes through tempering.
  • when tempering they heat and cool the chocolate into a crystal texture; this ensures perfect shine and texture
